Mr.
Baines, the Pioneer Principal of BIS, graduated from the Victoria
University of Manchester with distinction in 1974. After ten successful
years of teaching he returned to further studies at the University of
Liverpool where he gained an Honours Degree in Mathematics. This led to
his being elected as an ordinary member to the College of Preceptors. As well as teaching in a variety of schools, Mr. Baines was in demand from Local Education Authorities for consultancy work across the length and breadth of England. After a number of senior management positions in the U.K, Mr. Baines became Headmaster of the largest British International School in Cairo, Egypt where he presided over a number of innovations to the curriculum, which saw the school grow still further. Mr. Baines came to BIS after a career both in the United Kingdom and overseas. He continues to enjoy his time in Nigeria and looks forward to many more years of stimulation within the boundaries of Nigeria
